Take your painting to the streets!
Painting New York City’s landmarks, streets, people and places is an amazing way to engage with the remarkable energy of the city. Plus, you’ll participate in a great, ongoing artistic tradition.Over two days, workshop participants will gain a soup-to-nuts overview of the plein air experience, from how and where to set up on the streets of a thriving metropolis, to how to embrace that experience and make a joyful painting.
The city moves fast and so does the sun. Our challenge is to capture the dynamic movement through the use of value, color, perspective, and composition.All levels are welcome. Each day, I’ll begin with a short demo and talk. Then I’ll provide individual guidance to make sure you’re comfortable and equipped to relax and enjoy the experience of Plein Air Painting!

About the Instructor:
Pete Sinjin is a Brooklyn based painter who works primarily in the streets of the city. His plein air painting practice thrives on the energy, diversity and community of NYC. His Painting with Pete series on YouTube arose out of the many interactions he has had while painting in his beloved NYC.

Introduction to Plein Air Painting in Italy!
Join me this Summer for a plein air painting adventure in the beautiful light filled Umbria region of Italy!
We’ll be based atop a gorgeous hillside in the majestic town of Todi, a historic medieval village that offers sweeping vistas, romantic narrow pathways and tumbling lanes, structures and homes stretching back centuries, and the breathtaking sun drenched Piazza del Popolo.
Over five glorious days we will take full advantage of the myriad painting opportunities that the town and the valley beyond have to offer.
Snowy Cityscape with The Art Students League
Join me for my workshop Snowy Cityscape, a two-day winter wonderland plein-air painting excursion for adventurous artists who love the cold! I suggest painting in oils, but students may use other paints like acrylic or watercolor if they prefer. With demos and consistent personalized feedback, we will paint on the streets of New York City on a day that there is snow on the ground.
