Take your painting to the streets!

Painting New York City’s landmarks, streets, people and places is an amazing way to engage with the remarkable energy of the city. Plus, you’ll participate in a great, ongoing artistic tradition.Over two days, workshop participants will gain a soup-to-nuts overview of the plein air experience, from how and where to set up on the streets of a thriving metropolis, to how to embrace that experience and make a joyful painting.

The city moves fast and so does the sun. Our challenge is to capture the dynamic movement through the use of value, color, perspective, and composition.All levels are welcome. Each day, I’ll begin with a short demo and talk. Then I’ll provide individual guidance to make sure you’re comfortable and equipped to relax and enjoy the experience of Plein Air Painting! The sign up button below will lead to the Art Students League website where you’ll find a supplies list.
