Join me for this two day plein air workshop in the city by the bay.
San Francisco is one of the most paintable cities in the world. From its iconic hills featuring unmatched views of the bay to its winding streets and 19th century victorians structures, it is a truly magical city and an absolute joy to paint.
In this workshop we will be learning about and practicing effective drawing practices, strong compositions, color and value relationships, perspective, and simplification of otherwise complex scenes.
Additionally, we will break down the practical nuts and bolts of plein air city painting, from the best materials and equipment one might need on their supply list, to the most effective places to set up and make art in the city streets.
I’ll be providing daily demonstrations of effective painting techniques, as well as offering extensive individual support and guidance.
Each day will begin at 9:30 with an hour break for lunch at 12:30. Afternoon session will begin at 1:30 and run to 3:30-4.
This is a workshop designed for absolute beginners to intermediate painters. While I will be working in oil paints, attendees are welcome to work in preferred mediums such as acrylic.
A list of supplies required and/or recommended is available here.
I really look forward to this workshop and can’t wait to meet you all!
